Folk singer, songwriter and recording artist Bill Staines, “America’s Troubadour”, joins us at my barn house on May 22, 2019. He has written more than 300 songs and recorded 22 albums and his songs have been covered by Peter, Paul and Mary, Nanci Griffith, The Highwaymen, Glenn Yarbrough, Jerry Jeff Walker and Grandpa Jones among many others.

Nanci Griffith once wrote, “Bill Staines has been my hero since 1977. He carries on where Woody left off — carrying on the tradition of stories and characters you wish you knew.”

Raised in Lexington, Massachusetts, in 1975 he won the National Yodeling Championship at the Kerrville Folk Festival and has appeared on A Prairie Home Companion, Mountain Stage, and The Good Evening Show.
