I’ve known Mike for almost three decades — is that right? He has reached his tree branches out in so many different directions: songwriter, performer, bands, father, husband, studio engineer, producer of so many award winning albums for so many great Oklahoma and Texas artists — and good friend to the working musician.

Mike has been around Stillwater and the scene almost since before there was red dirt. As a founding member of The Great Divide in 1992, he led the band through six studio albums before striking out on his own and connecting with the likes of Tom Skinner among others.

He likes to say that his current band is “twice as loud, and half as popular” as his old band, but somehow he’s muddled through another seven albums while producing some great albums for such talents as Cross Canadian Ragweed, Stoney LaRue, Jason Boland & the Stragglers, the Turnpike Troubadours and The Damn Quails.

Currently, he’s working on a Tom Skinner tribute album. Sometimes you’ve got have faith like a blind man and we’re sure Mike will bring that to his latest performance at the Old Church.
