AUGUST 5 we have PARKER MILLSAP coming home to Oklahoma to visit his folks and he will be doing a solo acoustic show for us Cimarron Breeze friends!!

Parker Millsap began traversing the byways of Oklahoma when he was just a teenager sitting in at jam sessions, playing any show he could to learn about performing and songwriting… including the popular Tuesday Night Music Club that songwriter Rick Reilly hosted for at least 10 years in he and D’Jeanne Duncan’s home in Cushing, OK (just the down road a piece from Perkins and north central Oklahoma). About every Oklahoma songwriter or Red Dirt performer has attended the pickin’ session at least once.

Parker’s mama loved and believed in his musician abilities and interests enough to drive him all the way from south of Norman every Tuesday night for 2 or 3 years, if I remember correctly. Now he is known all over the country and many parts of the world for his music!

Parker has gotten married in last few years and they make their home in Nashville, TN.

This August 5 evening is also the big BBQ & Potluck Dinner fundraiser for the concert series! If you like to BBQ or have a special dish to prepare, bring ‘em! We will have special music for the dinner portion as Travis Fite will be entertaining us with his best funk, blues, and reggae tunes… most of them are his own creations, too! We will accept donations during the dinner, suggested $20 donation.
