The Cimarron Breeze concerts and the songwriter showcases are held in the Old Church Center that sits at the Oklahoma Territorial Plaza in Perkins, Oklahoma.
Built in 1892 as the Methodist Episcopal Church, the Old Church Center was originally located at 202 E Thomas Street in Perkins and held services for almost a century at that location. The church was a gift to the community from David Sasser, and restored through gifts from Bill and Virginia Sasser as well as Harland and Beverly Wells and Don and Martha Lyon. It now holds ‘church’ again in the form of these amazing concerts!
In the past six years, the series has hosted the heart of the Oklahoma music scene full of amazing songwriters, musicians, songs, and a few potluck dinners, too! Through the efforts of Monica Taylor and David Sasser, publisher of the Perkins Journal, the church has hosted John Fulbright, Jimmy Lafave, The Cherokee Maidens & Sycamore Swing, Joel Rafael, Don Conoscenti, Dale Watson, Red Dirt Rangers, Willis Alan Ramsey, Eliza Gilkyson, Parker Millsap and many more.
